The DRAGON-STAR PLUS project has been launched!

February 13, 2015
Here we are! The 13 project partners, in addition to Diego Sammaritano (Policy Officer STI Cooperation with China, DG RTD) and Laurent Bochereau (Head of Science and Technology Section, EU delegation to China) gathered in Shenzhen (China) from February 1-2, to officially launch the DRAGON-STARPLUS  project.
As the follow-up of the DRAGON STAR project, DRAGON-STARPLUS  activities will focus on China, and will aim both on providing services to European and Chinese researchers, and on offering a flexible platform to support policy discussions between the European and Chinese stakeholders. In addition, DRAGON-STARPLUS will provide the EC and Member States, with the tools for setting a long-term cooperation strategy with China, in research and innovation and assist in the development of the Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda (SRIA).

The DRAGON-STARPLUS  consortium, coordinated by PRAXI / FORTH,  represents a wonderful mix of research and academic organisations, innovation intermediaries, public authorities, funding agencies and SMEs combining all the necessary expertise, capacity and contacts to implement the planned workplan. The project includes 6 committed associated partners (Academy of Finland, Netherlands enterprise Agency, INVITALIA, TUBITAK, the Danish Agency of Science, Technology and Innovation, and the Consiglio Nazionale delle ricerche) that have expressed interest to be involved in specific activities related to policy discussions.

DRAGON-STARPLUS  will thus benefit from the competencies of 4 core and highly experienced Chinese partners (China Science and Technology Exchange Centre, China-EU Center for Information & Communication Technologies in Agriculture, China Agricultural University, the University of Nottingham Ningbo China, and Beijing Software Enterprise Advisory Center) and 9 leading European partners (Foundation for Research and Technology Hellas (Coordinator), Sigma Orionis, the Agenzia per la Promozione Della Ricerca Europea, the Sociedade Portuguesa de Inovação, Phemonoe Lab, Steinbeis-Europa-Zentrum, Eurelations, KAIROS Future and The Austrian Research Promotion Agency )

Sigma Orionis is very proud to be part of such a promising project and looks forward to bringing its expertise in strengthening and supporting both EU-China research cooperation and policy dialogues.
